Radiant CMS

In 2006, I set out to give the Ruby community an open source content management system that would rival Textpattern. Radiant CMS was designed from the ground up with technical folks in mind. It allows easy access to the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in any part of a website. Pages in Radiant can be structured in a heirarchy and a built-in templating language allows you to script the rendering of a website in any way you like. Radiant extensions allow you to further customize the system.

Radiant was the first open source content management system built with Ruby on Rails. For a time it actually powered both the Rails website and the Ruby website. Ruby Gems reports that Radiant has been downloaded over 120,000 times.

I created Radiant CMS from scratch, playing the role of lead designer and developer on the project from the very beginning. I wrote nearly all of the original code for the backend and frontend. Today, Radiant is maintained by a community of developers and I no long play an active role in its development.
